She did it. She did it. She really, really did it! Katie finished the Grandma's Marathon this afternoon at 1:06 p.m. after 5 hours, 28 minutes, and 50 seconds. WAY TO GO KATIE!!!!!!!

About the Runner
The Kennedy family journey began about 5 years ago. God stole my heart and I dedicated the rest of my life to Him. I began to seek Him wholeheartedly, He opened my eyes to His children in need, He broke my heart in the process.
I remember going to Mark (my husband) and saying,"I believe God has a plan for us and we are not done growing our family". Mark's response, "Well, He didn't tell me and I have 2 kids and I am done"- I pressed him for a short time and then let it go stating to him "if you ever hear from God and He speaks to you, promise you will tell me", he agreed.
About 1 1/2 years later while getting ready to go to bed I asked Mark to hand me my Bible, he asked what I was looking for, I told him I wanted to look up a passage in Matthew, Matthew 25:34-36. I had heard a radio broadcast that day and wanted to read the passage for myself....
34"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
Mark looked at me and stated, "I read that same verse this morning, God has been working on my heart and I think we are to continue our family, we are to adopt".
What an incredible journey! I am impassioned to help those called on similar journeys, to bring His children to forever families through adoption, just as He adopted us...Romans 8:15-16, For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of SONSHIP. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." 16The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.
It was His plan!
